The most convenient airport to Pasadena is Burbank Airport, about a 20-minute drive from Pasadena (about $30 taxi ride). However, this airport has rather limited flights (mostly from the West Coast) and only a few airlines fly here (Alaskan, American, American West, Southwest, and United). Therefore, most participants will need to fly into Los Angeles International Airport (LAX), which is about a 45-minute drive from Pasadena. We recommend that visitors make use of the shared-ride vans (Prime Time or Super Shuttle), which cost $20 to $30. A taxi ride from LAX to Pasadena costs $80 to $100. Participants interested in sight seeing around the Pasadena area should probably rent a car at the airport. |

Here is a MAP of Pasadena showing the locations of Carnegie, the Sheraton, the Fuller, the Saga Inn, and Old Town Pasadena. Old Town and the Fuller are within close walking distance from the Sheraton. Carnegie is a 15-20 minute walk from the Sheraton, and a 10 minute walk from the Fuller. The best way to get from the Saga Inn to either Carnegie or the Sheraton is by taxi, which should cost no more than $5.00. Note that there will be a shuttle-bus service between the Sheraton and Carnegie from 14:00-17:00 hr for the opening reception. |
